- a global government.
major opportunity:
everyone lives in harmony and sings kum bah ya. :)
I'd suggest the theft of the 2000 U.S. presidential election by the Supreme Court, but I'm not sure if it happened long ago enough for your purposes or if you could find the scholarly journals. The book I read was The betrayal of America, by Vincent Bugliosi. I thought it was a good and legally accurate work, but I don't know if it would suit your purposes.
the goal would be to raise everyone up; the reality is we would end up with the elite and the serfs, same as always. The only way it would affect the US is that the standard of living would drop to the lowest common denominator.
Neither.Fascism results in centralized power. We see that on national levels and it will be that way on a global level in the next 5 or 6 years, sadly.
Hope this helps

Often, lobbyists for global corporations are actually shaping policy rather than political officials or the consensus of the people. For example, the EU is currently trying to regulate out of control lobbyists after realizing that legislation is heavily influenced by special interest groups. In the United States, although the Federal Lobbying Disclosure Act should theoretically regulate lobbyists, it is rarely enforced.
WWIII is the Current war in iraq. It resembles the Second World War in many, many ways. The allies:USA, UK, Australia. Takes on the current Axis of Iran Iraq and North Korea. all countries will have to choose where they stand and fight. Only a miracle can save the world from this.
do you realize they plan pure tyranny and the culling of 5.5 billions? -never of themselves of course!
New text: There are really too many things to cover in a Q/A, I'll add a couple high level things but you really need a pro consultant to set you up. There are also some good books on the subject but really you have to believe in what you are doing so you want to pick a successfull project/architect lead first that will set up the processes. Code repositories (you need one), defect feature process (you need one), driver sequencing to get the satelite sites working earlier vs later, or they can use the contract to develop test components.
The keys here are to set up processes at the IT level that enforce:
Product/Development Management
==============================
1) Proper Componentization, design by contract etc. will go along way to smooth the combined build
2) Select a Lead Architect and / or Lead Developer carefully, someone has to override the regional issues
3) Set up Wikis early and assign people to maintain
4) One Region can develop another test another support etc., but you need to be able to reproduce errors locally to the team that will fix
5) Multi-Release wars... optionally set up a research or r.next release development team who focuses on the next release to replace parts of the current or in development release.
Internationalization ok i18n is not a issue thx for adding the detail
====================
1) Separation of translatable text into translation packages, separating code from visuals such that you can translate / update translations on demand
2) Unicode... HTML/XML/Java/File Systems all support NLS chars via UTF8 on the wire/disk and UTF16 in memory. Stick with Unicode in that stack/programs and you can support all NLS chars, use a specific code page in your runtime applications such as any latin code page and you're busted.
3)Convert data at the edge.. use edge point mediations to convert code page specific data to unicode to enable NLS in the apps. Convert to Browser specific code pages at the last possible moment to orient to the user.
If you have access to a PC and obviously you do google Global Compact and International Labor Organization and compare and contrast them to get your answer.
I think it's a step in the right direction, but at the same time I also think that it would have little to zero impact upon America foreign policies I.E. controlling (Or trying to) the world's oil production and reserves.
We already have enough 'Toothless Tigers' in the world such as NATO, UN, USAN, OPEC, ASEAN, the list is endless.
We have all seen the hypocrisy of the 'Puppet-masters' pulling the strings behind Washington's back. They like to talk about 'Human rights' and 'Freedom' and 'Democracy' etc.
But, at the same time they are talking about those admirable things they are sending their huge Imperialistic Armies to control the oil fields in Iraq, Afghanistan (Iran coming soon?) and countless other countries to make sure they get the oil they need to maintain their dominance and at the same cheap price.
But it wont do any harm to join it I suppose, it will be another feather in Malaysia's cap (Let's just hope it's not going to cost the tax payers millions of dollars each year though)
Turkey have joined already? I used to know a guy who studied in Turkey, quite a nice country I'm told, but I still prefer Kuching/Sarawak somewhat.
Careful my friend, Big Brother is watching.
Yep. It is a well-funded hoax. An artificially inflated crisis designed to frighten the people of the world further into submission.
CO2 is less of a greenhouse gas than water vapor (so should we tax clouds as well?), and moreover, humans are responsible for less than 3% of the total CO2 in the atmosphere.
From the 1940's until the 1980's, the Earth experienced a significant cooling period, despite the fact that industrial production and release of CO2 vastly accelerated during this time.
It is only erroneous computer generated models that suggest CO2 causes global warming, and such programs were created by scientists whose funding is contingent upon their ability to prove the hypothesis of man-made global warming. On the other hand, ice core samples (collected in REALITY) have proven that CO2 levels are actually driven by global climate change, not the other way around.
The Earth is currently in a cooling cycle. Look it up. More CO2 just means MORE PLANTS! CO2 is GOOD! This isn't just basic science, it should be common sense! I can't believe how gullible some people are...
Global Warming is real but I don't side with the gloom and doom of it. Humans will adapt, as well as, many (but not all) animals.

The change is small and it seems insignificant, but it is still there. I would not consider anyone's arguments for or against the THEORY (yes, it is just a theory) when they start making personal attacks like calling people quacks, etc. Not very objective or scientific.
Also, one last thought. Consider the times when the news have reported large chunks of ice shelf breaking off of Antarctica, shrinking alpine glaciers, and shorter arctic winters (which have affected the polar bears). Does that sound like its getting warmer?
Global citizenship is the adoption of a world government where a person could be a citizen of all countries regardless of boundaries and ethnic groups. This system will eradicate conflicts between countries since there is only one country to speak of.
It's all coming together - the one world government. Good question! God bless you!!!
I've lived in lots of countries (including the US) and I've reached the conclusion that I'd rather live in a tax haven than a democracy.
I know the virtues of democracy are really indoctronated in Americans from a young age - but would you miss it if it wasn't there?
(edit) Just being honest Bob. I honestly prefer not paying taxes to voting once every couple of years.
It really was a retorical question as from what I know American culture and your education system, the value of democracy is really hammered home from an early age and is an object of national pride.
As an outside observer, all this national pride in democracy seems, well maybe a little bit hyped. Not withstanding that your country seems to be run by campaign contributors, only 1/6th of Americans take the trouble to vote, which is pretty small on a world wide scale, Voting is compulsory in some countries. In the US the two party system is entrenched and there is no point voting for a minority candidate. All those people who voted for Ross Perot for example might as well have stayed in bed, because it just doesn't matter whether they prefered Democrat or Republican. In other countries, if your 1'st choice doesn't get in, your 2nd choice counts as a full vote.
Which leads me to a question I sometimes wonder, If democracy is so important, why don't you improve it? It is important isn't it? Would you miss it?
Good try.. I have to report this one for spam.
