  1. Resolved Question: Foaming fertilizer?
  2. 23 May 2008 at 2:33pm
I live in a suburban subdivision, but my house backs up to a cornfield. I'm not a country girl at all, but have a general idea of agriculture, and can usually figure out what the farmer is doing back there. A few weeks ago he tilled up the soil, and last week it appeared that he was either tilling again, or actually planting the seeds. However he just came around and sprayed the field with some kind of fluid. The far ends of the spray arms are leaving some kind of white foam every 20 yards or so, which I'm sure is just a malfunction in the equipment, not intentional. Last year he grew soybeans, so I'm assuming what he planted last week was corn, but nothing is growing yet. So, what is he spraying..Fertilizer? Weed Killer? Rodent Repellant?

  3. Resolved Question: How does Obama expect to bring the country together?
  4. 23 May 2008 at 2:32pm
Obama talks about bipartisanship but that's not what the Democratic party leasders are talking about. "Biden: Republicans and Our Enemies " So the question really is, Obama talking about ending the old politics is it really just a campaign slogan he can't deliver on becuase the Democratic party leaders don't share Obama's views. I am guessing the one's who think the question is stupid are those who actually believe Obama cn bring change.... time for you people to get a grip on reality.. even if Obama is elected he won't be running the country.. that will be the Pelosi's, Bidens, Kennedy's .. who will be directing what Obama will be doing. Just a puppet

  11. Resolved Question: Is there truly a Biblical justification for opposing the l...
  12. 23 May 2008 at 2:22pm
    - (By asking this question, I am not saying there is...or that there isn?t. It is a question.) Before *some* Christians spew out hate, here is some food for thought: If the legal system of a country was perfectly aligned with the law of God (i.e. legislating all Christian morality), then everyone of us would be guilty of breaking the law...even daily. And therefore, we would all be in jail for our crimes. For we are all guilty of breaking God?s law. No one is perfect. Everyone sins. Everyone does that which is ?illegal? in the sight of God. For instance, in Matthew 5:21-6:18: Jesus condemns anger. Should such anger be illegal? Jesus condemns lusting. Should sexual fantasy be illegal? Jesus condemns fornication. Should sex before marriage be illegal? Jesus condemns divorce. Should divorce be illegal? Jesus condemns all lying. Should all lying be illegal? Jesus condemns those who don?t love their enemies. Should ?not loving? be illegal? Jesus condemns hypocrisy. Should hypocrisy be illegal? - It is NOT as though homosexuals are forcing you to marry them before God in your church, as if they even wanted to be married before God in your church! Furthermore, Jesus stated that the unmarried woman at the well (John 4) had had 5 husbands (5 past sexual partners) while also saying they weren?t truly husbands (i.e. were not considered married in the sight of God). So, who really cares if the ?world? considers homosexuals married and get the wordly benefits (i.e. tax breaks)? Perhaps you, your church, and God Himself would not recognize such a marriage as a sacred and holy union...but what is the harm in them cashing in on a legal union? Even in 1877, the United States Supreme Court affirmed the legitimacy of ?Common-law marriage? (i.e. tax benefits for fornicators who are not even legally married)! But you don?t really hear of too many Christians viciously opposing ?Common-law marriage?, do you?!? So, if you grant that even Christians can ?legally? divorce, then should you equally grant that homosexuals be ?legally? married? ...or is this just another example of legalistic Christian hypocrisy with judgmentalism and condemnation? - See PART 2 of this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080524093659AA10gBy&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHzJbtg EO07Q6SXGS4yTQMpYyjxW7v8OzCuqN.meLjxjs6KNH_Z85GPRUyyFEX3bvh_Qg--&paid=asked&msgr_stat us=

  13. Resolved Question: Ex or best friend?
  14. 23 May 2008 at 2:19pm
My boyfirend and I were together for a year and broke up because he moved across country. We stay in close contact and are visiting each other this summer. I am not over him, he initiated the break up. I recently started seeing his best friend. Both of us asked my ex for permission before we started. My ex said it was ok, but that he wouldn't cuddle w me when I visited him if i cuddled w his best friend. (I have recently moved and do not see his best friend anymore.) We didn't lie to my ex, but now he seems different towards me. Was I wrong? What should I do from here?

  16. 23 May 2008 at 2:19pm
Hi, I live in the states and I'm doing a marketing research report on debt and I need to find an English author who has written a book on the subject of personal debt elimination. It could also be simply a EU author as well. In the US we have Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey two American authors who may or may not be popular in your country. I need to find a competitor in your country. If anyone would be willing to shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance. That is along the lines of what I'm looking for. Thanks, this has helped me out a great deal.

  21. Resolved Question: Sick rabbit, suggestions please.?
  22. 23 May 2008 at 2:12pm
My mom owns a rabbit, approximately 5 years old. Indoor only, fed and watered daily, very well cared for. She just called to report that the rabbit is not eating, defecating, avoids contact and is making a "clucking" noise when she tries to pick her up. She reports that the rabbit appears to have lost weight as well. In addition she says that she is pulling out her hair. She has never been neuteured so we're wondering if it has anything to do with that. My mom actually took over ownership of the little rabbit when a family member left the country to teach overseas, she is on a limited income and although she wants to do what is best for the rabbit, she can't afford to take her to a specialty vet if it is just an "in heat" issue. She lives in a small town and the local vet told her she'd have to go to a specialist for rabbits. Any advice aside from "take the rabbit to the vet" is appreciated. I understand she might have to do that.

  23. Resolved Question: How many conservatives know The United States and Britain ...
  24. 23 May 2008 at 2:12pm
Mossadegh nationalized his country's oil industry, and the ARAMCO and BP needed cheap oil so the US overthrew Mossadegh, known as Operation Ajax. This was the first CIA covert operation overthrowing democratically elected governments, but certainly not the last. If I was Iranian I would hate America too. Actually it was President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 who authorized this , not TRUMAN.

  25. Resolved Question: How do I send a letter to a different country from the US?

  27. Resolved Question: I don't love my husband anymore but he's a nice person and...
  28. 23 May 2008 at 2:10pm
There's no other man involved, i have never cheated on my husband, i'm simply not in love with him anymore and haven't been for the last 3 years or so of our 15 year marriage. We have a little girl and a little boy and i have stayed with him because of them. He is a good father and a good man. We've been to counselling and i know he still loves me. I want to leave him and move back to my hometown which is the other side of the country from where we live now, i have nothing in the town where we live but all my family live in Oregon and i miss the place so much. But i desperately want to minimise the hurt, i'd never stop him seeing his kids or take him through court over the divorce settlement, ill take whatever his first offer is, i don't want a messy divorce and i can support myself and the kids. What should i do? Should i wait until he returns home? The thing with moving to Oregon is that he's away so much anyway and i would bring the kids to him when he was back or he could come visit us, he could see them everytime he was back.

  29. Resolved Question: Someone help me with a movie title please?
  30. 23 May 2008 at 2:08pm
It was brought out last year and it was supernatural/horror. It's about a family that moves out to a country farm house and grow sunflowers. Only the teenage girl and the baby boy notice the ghosts going on around the house. The most activity is in the basement where the ghosts try and drag people too. The reason why they are there is because of the murders that happened to a wife and son that lived in the house before and it's the father (of the murdered son) they are trying to capture. I'm so glad I'm back from the country! Yay! Thanks - that's the one.

  33. Resolved Question: What's the difference between JFK and Obama?
  34. 23 May 2008 at 2:06pm
Obama and JFK's politics don't differ much from each other. Diplomacy, unification, ending the war, and change. JFK is considered to be one of the best presidents in US History. He was only 43 when he was elected. Obama is 47, yet people question his political ability. Why don't people realize that Obama would continue the legacy of JFK...and we could have another great president who believes in the prosperity of this country? JFK did start the war...but he was planning on withdrawing the troops before it escalated out of control like it did. Lyndon B. Johnson extended the war, knowing it was not what JFK wanted. Just FYI.

  38. 23 May 2008 at 2:05pm
I've paid my taxes through my employers, but I haven't filed since 2000. Due to moving around the country I don't have all my T4's either, and I've worked for companies all across Canada, so tracking them that way isn't really feasable. Oh, I haven't made enough in any of the past years to really owe taxes. Any advice?

  41. Voting Question: Why has there never been a 4 door mid-engine?
  42. 23 May 2008 at 2:04pm
Is there a certain reason that a car manufacturer has never made a 4 door, mid engine sports car? The only thing that I could think of would be the weight in slowing it down, but overall mid engine cars are just more fun to drive. I wouldn't mind taking a mid engine car across the country. Anyways, is there any reason they've never made a 4 door?

  43. Voting Question: Akward Phone Conversation ruin a relationship?
  44. 23 May 2008 at 2:04pm
I met this guy from South America while I was on a tour in the jungle...actually he was my tour guide. From the moment we met, there was such a strong connection as well as attraction. I was able to see him once after the week vacation from the jungle before I left the country. We decided to continue the relationship and he would eventually come and visit me by the end of the year. We texted everyday, phone calls everytime he comes back from a tour, and IMs but three days ago we were on the phone and i think i was blabbling about non interesting subjects for him and now I haven't heard from him since. And I felt it was arkward. What should I do? Do you think now he not interested in me???

  49. Resolved Question: Terrifying madness regarding human rights and freedom in UK?
  50. 23 May 2008 at 2:01pm
I have just been researching for a project on the hideous practice of forced strerilisation. Among other despicably disgusting practices I found out about was the forced sterilisation of black women in America until the 80's. This practice is still going on in certain parts of the world even now - China being one place. I was more horrified to learn of a UK labour government MP called Dawn Primarolo who said in Feb, 07 that Teenage girls could be steered towards what is described as ?long-term contraception?. This woman was appointed Minister of State for Public Health at the Department of Health in July 2007. What is most terrifying is reading a discussion forum on this and everyone was agreeing and saying that forced contraception (including on males) is a good idea until age 20. PLEASE TELL ME I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT IS HORRIFIED BY THIS AND THINKS THIS COUNTRY HAS GONE TOO FAR!! THIS IS STATE INTERVENTION AT THE MOST HORRIFYING LEVEL My faith in society is dwindling This notion could (thankfully only theoretically at the moment) could leave parents powerless to protect their own childs human rights. And secondly, I don't care how many taxes I have to pay to support single mothers if it means that a a violent rape on our human rights (such as forced contraception) is prevented. Surely someone agrees with me on this - the world can't be completely full of stupid, arrogent, interfering people. I know this is all just a discussion, but the fact that anyone even is happy with such an invasive notion as a theorey makes my blood run cold. I KNOW THAT FORCED CONTRACEPTION AND STERILIZATION ARE DIFFERENT - but it is disgraceful to suggest that we have the right to tar all young people with the same brush and force anyone to undergo any of this against their will, based on the actions of a few.

http://www.openmarket.org/2008/05/23/fingerprint-registry-in-housin g-bill/ We can't request an ID when you vote; however the moron stting across the table from you telling you where to sign for your mortgages must be finger printed. Shouldn't we be finger printing the idiots who signed for loans they could not afford and are now defaulting on? (Please don't blame evil Big Mortgage, it takes 2 to tango and the accounts of true criminal activity among lenders is very low and not statistically relevant.) Also please remember that the total amount of mortgages being defaulted on is about 1 - 1.5% of the total american mortgages. When will america realize that the liberals policy of reacting to a problem instead of being proactive will only sink this country further into the fascist socialism? Ruby- Seriously! Please provide facts to support you accusations. Every loan offered must provide a details of when the different rates take affect. If what you said is true, please so how many loans this applies to. A democratically controlled congress (where the bill was originated) with a republican president (who will try to vetoe it). Joe - So what you are saying is that you took personal responsibilty for your loan and did it right. Those people who did not care to read the fine print should then also take responsibilty for their actions and re-fi or sell. Why should my tax dollars pay for their house, why can't it pay for my own house. How often do car dealerships care if the car you are buying is too big or over priced. NEVER. They just want you to buy, because then it is your responibilty. Same thing in the home loan market.

  71. Resolved Question: Somebody explain this to me about Gas prices?
  72. 23 May 2008 at 1:44pm
There is a law in Economics called the Law of Diminishing Returns. It basically says that if a price gets high enough, demand will go down. Bloomberg reports that in March, US drivers drove less (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20602099&sid=aO9IKutlgmVA&refer=energy). We are seeing now that the high prices of fuel is effecting peoples everyday lives. Sooner or later, the market will force demand to decress, all things held equal, correct? If the demand of fuel is high due to countries like India and China demanding more, are not they paying a higher price for fuel as well? The average Chineese or Indian doesn't have the desposible income compared to the average American. Higher prices would damage their economies like ours would it not? How long before a world-wide drop in demand? I can't see the world supporting $200/barrel oil and $15/gallon gas as per Mr. Robert Hirsch.

  79. Resolved Question: Looking for a fresh new cd with all new songs...?
  80. 23 May 2008 at 1:37pm
The bands that I like are Linkin Park, The Format, Brand New, Just Surrender, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, I Can Make A Mess Like Nobodys Business, Lifehouse, Panic! at the Disco, older AFI, My Chemical Romance, Peter Bjorn and John, Coheed and Cambria, Blink 182, Box Car Racer, Goo Goo Dolls, Fall Out Boy, SecondHand Serenade, Sum 41, Cobra Starship, Taking Back Sunday, Three Days Grace, Bob Marley, Kill Paradise, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Used, +44, Bedouin Soundclash, Rise Against, Papa Roach, Senses Fail, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sondre Lerche. I know I'm kinda all over the place but anything in that sort of demographic will work. I HATE country, no techno, I like the new stuff but old is always fabulous. I love sad stuff, talking about life and all; Hence Just Surrender, Senses Fail, MCR...etc. So do you're best. My question is more of a request then a question, I just want some new songs to listen to that fit my demographic. I haven't downloaded anything new in a while.

  89. Voting Question: Is it treason to make donations to Palestinian cause?
  90. 23 May 2008 at 1:31pm
It is mind-boggling how large the gap between Americans who sympathize with Israel vs. Americans who sympathize with the PA. While I understand the aversion to terrorist tactics and violence, is it so difficult to understand that Palestinians are acting like the dehumanized and disgruntled people the Israelis have turned them into? We are talking about a group of people who have been treated worse than dogs for over 40 years now. Dehumanizing a group of people is very dangerous for it creates a group who feels they have nothing to lose. Their conscience is replaced by a hunger for justice (which, by the way, is always on the side of the occupied people). Any American who blindly supports Israel and opposes the PA is either cold-blooded, ignorant, or both. Are there any American organizations that take private contributions to support PA (as in donating medical supplies, books for children...etc.)? And is donating to them considered an act of treason in this country?

  92. 23 May 2008 at 1:29pm
I mean look at Maccain. He is a combat veteran and a P.O.W.. But he would probably be a far worse president than Obama who has absolutely no military background. I was in the Army for almost 15 years and it makes no difference to me. But I do feel that if we declare war on a country, the senators and Washington bigwigs that decide to go to war should automatically have the children if over 18 be shipped off to bootcamp and sent to that combat zone in an infantry unit. Women CAN serve in a combat zone, in an infantry unit. And they do. Albert P, I served over 13 years in the United States Army in the 10th Mountain Div out of Ft. Drumm in Watertown, NY. Although I was born in England, I made my citizenship in 1989. I love my country. I am a proud American. VERY PROUD!!! For you to say that I am weakinning my country is not only an uneducated statement, but it is also very wrong. I fought for this country. What have you done for this country? I have lost my friends for this country, I also lost my older brother for this country. So, I ask you.... what have you done to prove your loyalty to America? What will you do? I can answer both of those questions. You will do nothing. Nothing but complain about it. Please research before you start puking your incorrect observations about people. sorry.... only one "m" in Ft. Drum. I tend to have a few typos when I am typing while angry. Ft. Drummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  94. 23 May 2008 at 1:25pm
We want to move to England from Austria or go back to Canada with our 3 children. We're getting mixed reviews on England's education, health system, social problems, etc. We want to move our kids to an English speaking country, so it's either back to Canada or England. Our son has Tourettes Syndrome and one daughter has a memory disability, so I'm concerned that the British schools might be too tough for them. I'm also concerned about the cost of living ... rent, utilities, gas, food, etc. I'm guessing that both places may be relative, but with the recent gas and food hikes in England, it's anyone's guess. Any advice on which place might be a better solution?

  99. Voting Question: summer heat and baby..?
  100. 23 May 2008 at 1:22pm
im from a country that summers reach as high as 40 degrees C, its so stuffy that air conditioners are left on even during the night. bein that im goin to b havin a summer baby, will the ceiling fan harm it if left on during the night? i dont intend on puttin the air conditioner on but i already can't sleep without the ceiling fan on now let alone in summer, although if it will do any harm then im willin to sacrifice or just sleep on the cold floor.. any suggestions/opinions? i mean for when i have the baby.. people are telling me that a ceiling fan would cause it to get stiff and even risk asthma (which i don't really see how that's possible..)< >
